The Faculty of Da'wah and Communication (FDK) of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has established a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) to organize competency certification programs in the fields of digital technology and communication. A total of 30 students from the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting (KPI) Study Program are participating in the Visual Communication Design (DKV) certification, and 30 Informatics Engineering students are involved in the Junior Mobile Programmer program. This activity is part of the 2025 Vocational School Graduate Academy (VSGA) program. Tuesday (06/05).
This initiative represents a cross-disciplinary collaboration between the KPI Study Program of FDK and the Informatics Engineering Study Program of the Faculty of Science and Technology with Kominfo. It is directly linked to the Junior Mobile Programmer course. The implementation of this certification aligns the curriculum between the academic world and the digital industry, as outlined in the new 2025 VSGA program launched by Kominfo.
The activity spans a full semester, with monitoring conducted on May 6, 2025. Representatives from Kominfo, Mr. Agus Prabowo (Head of BPSDMP Yogyakarta) and Mr. Danang, were present at the event. From UIN Sunan Kalijaga, the activity was directly received by the Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Pajar Hatma Indra Jaya, M.Si. Also in attendance were the Head of the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Dr. Muhammad Mustakim, S.T., M.T., the Head of the KPI Study Program, Saptoni, S.Ag., M.A., and the lecturer of the Visual Communication Design course, Dian Eka Permanasari, S.Ds., M.A.
This certification not only provides recognition of digital competencies for KPI students but also signifies a crucial step in developing an industry-needs-based curriculum. This process is in line with efforts to improve the quality of higher education graduates based on work competencies.
The VSGA program itself is part of Kominfo's national initiative to enhance the digital talent competency of Indonesia through collaboration with various universities. In its new 2025 model, the program emphasizes the validation of course modules and regular monitoring to ensure alignment between academic content and digital industry standards. (Pjr-Kh)
