Behind the happy graduation
celebration, there is an inspiring story of a young man who managed to make a
new history. Amirul Wahid, whose name is now recorded as the first graduate
from the Islamic Community Development Master's Program (PMI) at the Faculty of
Da'wah and Communication UIN Sunan Kalijaga. With a GPA of 3.96, Amirul not
only passed, but proved that strong determination and a sincere heart are the
keys to achieving dreams.
Amirul Wahid, a young man born in
Jember who becomes a benchmark for success in the Islamic Society Development
Master's program (PMI) FDK UIN Sunan Kalijaga, successfully completed his
master's program in a year, 7 months and 20 days.
His actions are not only
inspiring because of his academic achievement, but also because of the
behind-the-scenes story that is full of struggle. He did not just pursue a
title, but a noble goal: uplifting the dignity of his parents, which has been
the most fundamental reason in his life, while he was studying in the Islamic
Community Development Master's Program.
During his academic busyness,
Amirul chose a path rarely taken. He focuses on social issues that are often
neglected, and he writes them in a thesis entitled "Community Resan
Strategy in Community-Based Environmental Conservation in Gunungkidul."
This story begins in the
classrooms at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, where he discovered his love for the science
of community development. According to him, there are still many gaps in
development that have not been fully exploited in Indonesia, and that is where
he found his calling.
This journey takes time and
sweats. At the beginning of his studies, he admitted that he was "exhausted"
and had difficulty following high academic standards. However, instead of going
backwards, he went forward. Remembering the initial goal, he was determined to
catch up. Thanks to the full support of supportive lecturers and fellow
students, he successfully completed his mission. "Because I remember my
initial purpose of taking this path, I am determined and committed to catch
up," he recalled Wednesday (13/8).
This performance is not the end
of everything, but the beginning of a new chapter. With full of humility, he
felt that the predicate of being the first graduate was a heavy trust. He
should be more careful in every word and deed in order to maintain the good
name of his alma mater. His hope is simple, but great: that it can become a
pillar of inclusive and comprehensive development, as well as bring justice and
prosperity to the community, in accordance with the noble values he learned.
"I personally can achieve
that lofty goal so that it can become a pillar of the development of a more
inclusive and comprehensive nation and uphold the justice and well-being of
society. Furthermore, I hope that the PMI master can be better known by more
people so that it can increase the manifestation of the good will." said
Amirul.
Amirul Wahid's story is a
reminder for all of us, that education is not just a matter of values and
titles, but about commitment, sincerity, and the desire to benefit others. He
proves that a knowledgeable human being will always return to his roots, the
community.
Amirul Wahid’s hard work and
persistence in learning in the Islamic Society Development Master's Program was
also felt by the Head of the Islamic Society Development Master's Program Prof.
Dr. Sri Harini, M.Si. "He is diligent, tenacious, intelligent and he never
gives up when working on the final thesis" said Sri Harini who is also the
Thesis Advisor.
Prof. Dr. Sri Harini, M.Si hopes
that Amirul will be more successful in the future, that his dreams will be
achieved. And also hope to continue the passion in learning, creating, and
spreading the benefits to others. "His graduation will hopefully inspire
his friends in the program in particular and other students in general, with
seriousness that will bear fruit", said Sri Harini (Fes-Kh)
