The Faculty of Da’wah and Communication, Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic
University (UIN), held a Kick-Off Meeting to design long-term activity
programs for each study program (prodi) within the faculty.
The event took place at Rohan Hotel on December 18–19, 2024, and was attended
by 186 participants, including lecturers, education staff, alumni, students,
and other relevant stakeholders.
This event served as a significant moment for formulating the work plans of
each program for the next four years.
Dean of the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication, Prof. Arif Maftuhin,
explained that the main goal of the Kick-Off Meeting was to design activity
programs that would enable the study programs to excel in the future.
Each prodi was asked to draft detailed activities, grouped into three
categories: primary, secondary, and tertiary.
Primary activities, labeled as code one, are top priority for implementation,
while codes two and three depend on available funding.
What Is Expected from This Plan?
According to Prof. Arif, with the annual proposals aligned with the Ministry/Agency
Work Plan and Budget (RKAKL), each prodi is expected to operate more
systematically and efficiently.
The pre-planned activities will no longer require separate annual proposals, as
the annual plan already includes all projected activities.
Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Noorhaidi, expressed high
appreciation for the review of the vision and mission conducted during the
Kick-Off Meeting.
He stated that this effort is crucial to strengthening coordination among
existing work programs, ensuring a clearer and more structured implementation
in 2025.
“With this step, what we’ll do in 2025 is already clear and supported by a
well-structured work program,” the Rector said.
Who Was Involved in the Kick-Off Meeting?
In addition to participants from the Faculty of Da’wah and
Communication, the event was also attended by UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s Head of
Bureau, Ali Sodik, who emphasized the importance of digital systems in managing
study leave and promotion tasks for lecturers.
This system facilitates performance monitoring and smooths the administrative
process related to the career development of lecturers and educational staff.
The Rector also highlighted the importance of achieving higher
accreditation standards to enhance the quality and competitiveness of the
university.
“For prodi that are already excellent, we will strive to achieve international
accreditation, which will boost our competitiveness on a global scale,” said
Prof. Noorhaidi.
With the same enthusiasm, the university aims for Public Service Agency (BLU)
income to reach 220 billion rupiah in 2025, supported by all cooperation
activities undertaken by the university.
Tech Skills as a Key to Success
On this occasion, Dr. Ali Sodik also emphasized the importance of transitioning
from manual to tech-based systems for education staff.
Considering the challenges posed by a wave of retirements in the near future,
proper planning and strategy in staff management are essential to ensure the
smooth operation of the campus.
Technological skills are crucial for education staff to adapt to ongoing
changes.
With the strategic directions and initiatives formulated in this
Kick-Off Meeting, the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication at UIN Sunan Kalijaga
is increasingly prepared to develop excellent and globally competitive study
programs.
