Faculty of Da’wah and Communication at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic
University (UIN Sunan Kalijaga) held the Finalization of the 2024 Dean’s
Accountability Report on Thursday and Friday, January 9–10, 2025, at University
Hotel Yogyakarta.
The event was attended by lecturers, educational staff (tendik), and faculty
leadership with the aim of completing the annual report, which contains
important data and information regarding the faculty’s performance throughout
the year.
In his remarks, Dean Prof. Arif Maftuhin emphasized the importance of
well-organized data collection.
He expressed that data collection has often been a challenge, which can hinder
effective decision-making.
“We must understand that institutional data collection is a crucial step, as
the data we possess is official and can be used to formulate more accurate
policies and decisions in the future,” Prof. Arif stated.
He further explained that through this initiative, the faculty aims to
establish a centralized and well-organized master data system.
This data will be made accessible via a website interface that can be easily
used by anyone in need of information.
“The data won’t just be centralized but will also be regularly updated—either
every semester or as needed—so it can serve as a reference for decision-making,
policy development, and future planning,” he added.
Dr.Irsyadunnas, Chair of the Committee for the Finalization of the 2024
Dean’s Accountability Report, highlighted the report’s importance as a
foundation for organizing both academic and non-academic data.
He explained that the report will not only include raw data but also processed
data presented in various user-friendly formats.
“The data in the annual report will be supplemented with Excel-based
analysis, making it easier to evaluate and refine,” said Dr.Irsyadunnas.
“In addition, the report will feature yearly trend graphs to illustrate the
faculty’s performance development, accompanied by explanatory narratives to
help readers interpret the visuals.”
Furthermore, the report will include relevant photos of activities,
where necessary, to provide a clearer depiction of the faculty’s initiatives
and achievements throughout the year.
With this comprehensive report, all stakeholders are expected to utilize the
data as a more reliable reference for future decision-making and policy
formation.
This finalization
event is anticipated to bring significant improvements in data management at the
Faculty of Da’wah and Communication, making it more structured and accessible
for the entire academic community and other relevant parties.(Kh)
