The Faculty of Da’wah and Communication (FDK) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta held a workshop on the preparation of accreditation documents at the Grand Rohan Hotel in Yogyakarta on 3–4 June 2026. This event focused on accelerating the preparation of accreditation instruments for the Independent Accreditation Agency for Social, Political, Administrative and Communication Studies (LAMSPAK) for the Social Welfare Studies (IKS) programme, as well as ACQUIN international accreditation for the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting (KPI) programme.
The Dean of the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication (FDK) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Dr Arif Maftuhin, emphasised that the event was designed to ensure the accreditation forms could be completed thoroughly and on time. In his view, the experience of the KPI programme, which has successfully prepared the LAMSPAK form, serves as a vital foundation for tackling the upcoming accreditation process.
“We must remain optimistic. The KPI programme has demonstrated that the preparation of LAMSPAK accreditation documents can be carried out successfully. For the IKS programme, the target of achieving ‘excellent’ accreditation through LAMSPAK must also be realised without delay. Furthermore, both programmes must finalise their Self-Assessment Reports (SARs),” he said.
He added that data validation is the most crucial aspect in the preparation of accreditation documents. The accuracy of the data not only determines the assessment results but is also linked to the students’ future and the trust placed in the graduates by employers.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Institutional Development at the Faculty of Design and Communication (FDK), Prof. Dr Pajar Hatma Indra Jaya, explained that this activity involved collaboration amongst lecturers. This synergy was established to comprehensively analyse the accreditation criteria, particularly in the areas of research, community engagement, governance and quality assurance systems.
According to Pajar, accreditation is not merely an administrative task, but a means of evaluating the study programme’s achievements over the past three years, as well as an opportunity to formulate flagship programmes to be developed in the future.
“The Faculty has provided full support, both in terms of human resources and funding. The drafting team is currently focused on evaluating performance achievements and preparing relevant physical evidence to ensure that all narratives in the accreditation documents align with the latest assessment indicators,” said Pajar.
He added that the internal presentation and review process is a crucial stage for identifying various shortcomings so that improvements can be made promptly before the external assessment process takes place.
Through enhanced data integration and a more systematic approach to document preparation, the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FDK) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga aims to ensure the entire form-completion process is finalised on time. This step forms part of the faculty’s efforts to improve the quality of education whilst strengthening its global competitiveness through both national and international accreditation systems.
At the end of the event, each head of study programme presented an update on the progress of the accreditation documentation. The review session involved a team from the Quality Assurance Agency comprising Prof. Dr Pajar Hatma Indra Jaya, Dr Hikmah Endraswari, and Dr Rozak. The reviewers provided feedback on the completeness of the data, the consistency of the narrative, and strategies for meeting the assessment indicators in order to strengthen the chances of achieving the best possible accreditation outcome.
