The Islamic Communication and Broadcasting (KPI) Study Program at the
Faculty of Da’wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, has
initiated the preparation of its accreditation document in accordance with the
standards of the Independent Accreditation Agency for Education, Social
Sciences, and Humanities (LAMSPAK). The two-day workshop took place on 16–17
June 2025 at the Grand Rohan Hotel, Yogyakarta.
KPI is one of the oldest and most established study programs within the
faculty and has held an “A” accreditation rating since 2001. The program’s
current accreditation, scored at 373, remains valid until 5 May 2025 and has
been extended by LAMSPAK through Decision No. 70/AK.03.01/2025 until 4 November
2025.
Previously, KPI had submitted a Conversion Supplement Instrument (ISK)
to the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). However,
following the establishment of LAMSPAK and the integration of KPI study program
associations nationwide into the new body, the accreditation process has
officially shifted to LAMSPAK. In response, KPI has taken proactive steps to
finalize and submit its accreditation document by the end of July 2025.
The workshop was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr.
Arif Maftuhin, M.Ag., M.A.I.S. who emphasized that accreditation is a
reflection of the institution’s commitment to maintaining educational quality
and upholding UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s core values. He noted that the program
initially aimed for international accreditation, had the ISK been extended for
five years, but will now focus on fulfilling LAMSPAK standards.
Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Pajar Hatma Indra Jaya,
underscored the importance of time management and structured teamwork led by
the KPI Program Head in close coordination with the faculty. He encouraged
collaborative data collection among lecturers to ensure the completeness and
accuracy of documentation. The faculty, he added, is ready to fully support the
process both in terms of data and funding.
The agenda began with a technical briefing on the LAMSPAK instrument by
Dr. Hikmah Endraswati, S.E., M.Si., from the University Quality Assurance
Institute (LPM). Participants reviewed the structure of the form, document
completeness, writing formats, and evaluation indicators.
According to KPI Program Head, Saptoni, M.A., initial preparation began
with task distribution among lecturers, who gathered relevant data and drafted
the initial report. During the workshop, the draft was reviewed in detail
alongside LPM, incorporating feedback and evaluations for improvement. A final
plenary session on the second day resulted in several key revisions and
additions, which will be further refined in a follow-up session scheduled for
early July.
“We aim to complete the final revisions by mid-July, so the document can
be submitted by the end of the month,” Saptoni stated.
This activity is a crucial part of the program’s academic quality
assurance process and reinforces its position as one of UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s
flagship study programs. (Nid-Kh)
