VISION

To become a leading and outstanding Master’s programme in fostering a critical and innovative academic environment that integrates scholarly and Islamic traditions in the study of community development.

1. Education and teaching that integrates social ethics with contemporary developments and focuses on student-centred learning.

 2. Research that contributes to solving community development issues by providing creative, innovative, socially and ecologically conscious solutions.

 3. Community support for resolving social issues by utilising technological advancements and digital platforms.

The Master's Program in Islamic Community Development (S2 PMI) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga establishes three interrelated graduate profiles: academics/researchers who are capable of developing and producing scholarly works in the field of Islamic community development in a critical and innovative manner; practitioners in community empowerment institutions who are competent in designing and implementing empowerment programs grounded in Islamic values; and social policy analysts who are able to examine, evaluate, and formulate policy recommendations for social development that prioritize justice and community welfare. These three profiles collectively reflect the program's commitment to producing graduates who are academically excellent while remaining responsive to social dynamics and the needs of community empowerment at both local and national levels.
