OVERVIEW PPTD

The Center for Da'wah Technology Development (Pusat Pengembangan Teknologi Dakwah or PPTD) within the Faculty of Da'wah at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta functions as a laboratory that supports and assists students in fulfilling their academic requirements, particularly regarding coursework execution. Furthermore, PPTD serves as a learning facility for students in the fields of broadcasting and photography, aimed at developing hard and soft skills aligned with their respective interests and talents as preparation for entering the professional workforce. In its operations, PPTD oversees several student communities focused on media skill development, namely Difikom (graphic design and photography community), SukaTV (television community), and Rasida (Radio Siaran Dakwah, the da'wah radio broadcasting community).

Through these communities, students engage not only as technical executors but also as content creators and program managers. Students are trained to generate ideas, design concepts, execute production processes, and conduct independent evaluations. This active involvement in Defikom, SukaTV, and Rasida provides invaluable practical experience.

Consequently, students who participate in these communities exhibit a higher level of career readiness compared to those who do not. This readiness is reflected in their increased confidence when handling real-world projects, their adaptability to professional environments, and the professional portfolios they build during their undergraduate studies. Notably, a significant number of alumni who were active in these communities have successfully established careers within the media industry and broadcasting institutions.
